The team at PETRA Data Science is delighted to announce that their engineered data science FORESTALL® downtime prediction algorithms have been named as a finalist in the Austmine 2017 Awards METS Innovation category.
“We believe it is our transdisciplinary approach to data science, that has enabled us to develop a solution that responds to the industry’s need for a platform agnostic approach to real-time downtime prediction”, said Dr Penny Stewart, Managing Director of PETRA Data Science.
Winners will be announced at Austmine’s biennial awards night on Tuesday 23rd May as part of the Austmine 2017: Mining’s Innovation Imperative conference in Perth.
Christine Gibbs Stewart, CEO of Austmine, said that the applications they have received for the awards this year are testament to the many companies in Australia who are achieving excellence.
“The Austmine awards are now in their fifth edition and 2017 has certainly been the highest calibre of submissions we have ever seen, challenging our judges in their roles to select finalists and an ultimate winner. Austmine is passionate about innovation and we are proud of the volume of Australian METS who export their innovative products and services to every mining nation in the world. I am looking forward to celebrating with all of our finalists and winners over in Perth later this month”, Christine said.
Dr Stewart will also be speaking at the Austmine 2017 conference this year. Her topic “Silent Music: Mining Case Studies in Machine Learning”, will provide an insight into PETRA’s work, and the type of improvements machine learning and big data can bring to the mining industry.
